THE APPLICATION PROCESS / ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the paramedic program requires a combination of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and previous emergency response experience. Therefore it is necessary to obtain coursework and experience prior to entering the program.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Drivers license or proof of age
  • Current EMT - 1 license
  • Current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer (BLS) card
  • One year of verified work experience as an EMT - 1 on an emergency response vehicle, such as a fire engine or private ambulance
  • Saddleback College Matriculation within last two years. Please contact Matriculaton for testing (949) 582-4970. *Note: you need a Saddleback College ID number.

*Note EMT - 1 courses are available through Saddleback College through its Health Science, Human Services, and Emeritus Institute Division.
