ALPHA GAMMA SIGMA
Alpha Gamma Sigma is the honor society for California community colleges. It is a student organization involved in community service, school service, and scholarship fundraising. Alpha Gamma Sigma is open to all Saddleback students regardless of major, and involves no academic program. Students receive membership recognition on their transcripts for each semester they are members.
Membership in Alpha Gamma Sigma is on a per-semester basis; students must maintain eligibility and pay dues each semester. Students are eligible if they have at least a 3.0 G.P.A. after 12 units at Saddleback College OR
for entering freshmen, have a 3.5 G.P.A. from high school.
Alpha Gamma Sigma offers opportunities for developing leadership skills as well as forging friendships with some of Saddleback's best students. Scholarships are offered on both the local and state levels for active members, and some four-year institutions have special scholarship opportunities for society members. Members also receive special recognition at graduation. Information on Alpha Gamma Sigma is available on information easels in the library, the second floor of BGS, and in the Honors Program Office, LIB 112.
