The Honors
Transfer Council of California
(HTCC)
Community College Honors and Scholars Programs Networking
for Excellence
HTCC Scholarship Application
Who are we?
Over forty community
colleges throughout California, from
Sacramento in the north to San Diego in the south. Each college is represented by its honors/scholars’ program director
(a classroom faculty member) and its designated honors/scholars’ counselor.
What do we
do?
The main task
of the HTCC is to negotiate special transfer agreements linking community
college honors/scholars’ programs to specific universities, large or small,
public or private. Students completing our programs then enjoy
enhanced transfer consideration at the partner-campus, e.g., guaranteed or
priority acceptance, special scholarships, housing priority, and a range of
other academic and social benefits such as library privileges even before
transfer.
The HTCC is
also a form for honors directors and counselors to share experiences and successful
practices in dealing with talented and motivated students.
The HTCC sponsors
a research conference giving students in community college honors programs
the opportunity to present the results of their work.
The second annual conference will be March 9, 2002, at the University
of California—Irvine.
When and
where are HTCC meetings?
We meet three
