HONORS PROGRAM ACADEMIC HONORS
All students, whether or not they participate in the Honors Program,
are eligible for academic honors. These honors are based solely on G.P.A. and
are completely independent of Honors Program participation or membership in
either Alpha Gamma Sigma or Phi Theta Kappa.
Students who achieve a G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher in 12 units * or 3.5 in at least 6 units of letter-graded courses in any one semester will be eligible for the honor of being placed on the Dean's List.
At graduation, the "With Honors" designation is placed
on the transcript and diploma of students who have achieved an overall G.P.A.
of 3.5 to 3.74. Those reaching a G.P.A. of 3.75 earn the designation "With
High Honors." Valedictorian status is granted to all students who attain
the 4.0 G.P.A., the highest possible level. Students who earn these honors wear
special regalia at commencement; this regalia is given to them on that day,
before the ceremony begins.
