Class Web Page
To register for classes, students "shop" online via the online class schedule. All full-time and part-time faculty members are encouraged to post a class web page to their faculty profile as a way to better inform students in their search for classes.
The class web page should include such information as:
- A brief biography
- Courses by ticket number
- Course syllabus
- Course textbooks by name, edition, and ISBN #
- Textbook purchasing options - For a sample, click here.
- A general orientation to Blackboard (specific to faculty who use Blackboard)
- Steps for Student Success - For a sample, click here.
Faculty who teach online classes must post a minimum of the following information on their faculty profile and/or class web page
- Online course by ticket number
- Course textbooks by name, edition, and ISBN#
- Details on the class orientation (online or in person)
- How and when to log onto Blackboard - click here for additional information.
- Saddleback College email use for students - click here for additional information.
- Steps for Student Success - For a sample, click here.
To access your completed class web page template:
You may already have a template developed for you. To access your template, click here and scroll down to your name. If you have not yet received your class web page template, immediately contact pflanigan@saddleback.edu.
To modify your current class web page template:
- You can submit your syllabi and other course materials by ticket number and semester to our ITC staff via e-mail at
usersrv@saddleback.edu. The staff in ITC will post your course material onto your class web site. This a "quick" fix and must be done electronically.
- You can learn how to manage and post your class web page by setting up individual training time with ITC User Services at 582-4397 or via e-mail at /itc/user/ or usersrv@saddleback.edu.
- You can follow the steps listed below on how to establish and manage your class web page from home.
To establish and manage your class web page from home:
- You are required to have access to a software program called Contribute. This software program is available for your use in the ITC lab on campus now and in the division office.
- You can also download a trial version for home use by clicking onto this site: Download a Free Trial Version.
- Contribute has its own Getting Started tutorial and help menu.
- To get started, click onto these instructions.
