Teaching Full Online Course
Until at least Summer 2008 , the BGS building will be closed due to building renovations. In response to the building closure and the rising costs of gasoline, the division will be increasing its number of full online classes. As we create new online courses, it is our goal to maintain a vibrant learning experience for our students.
Teaching with Educational Technology
Students expect the use of technology (e.g. PowerPoint, Blackboard, streaming video) to be part of their learning experience. And, many community colleges are hiring full-time faculty members with strong skills in instructional technology. To remain current in today's educational environment, faculty should have expertise in the use of instructional technology.

Distance Education - Self-assessment for students
To help a student decide if distance education is right for him or her, there are several questions each student should ask himself or herself before enrolling in a distance learning class:
These are the questions:
- Do I like learning on a computer or by television?
- Am I comfortable with using technology?
- Am I self-disciplined enough to follow lessons on my own?
- Will I be comfortable if I don't see the instructor in person?
- Do I have good study habits?
The DE Self-Assessment will help students to answer the questions listed above.
