Chris Speed is one of the principal figures in a dynamic left-of-center jazz/improv scene in New York City.  His own bands include Endangered Blood, Human Feel, yeah NO, Trio Iffy, Pachora and The Clarinets.  He is a founding member of Jim Black’s Alas No Axis and John Hollenbeck’s Claudia Quintet (two of the most influential working bands today), works with Uri Caine (deconstructing works by Mahler, Mozart, Bach, Schoenberg, Gershwin) and maintains a busy career of touring, recording, performing, composing, practicing and teaching.

Theatre Arts Auditions

Tuesday, August 25, 2015 - 6:00pm to Wednesday, August 26, 2015 - 6:00pm

Auditions for the Theatre Arts Fall Season are on August 25th and 26th at 6:00pm in the McKinney Theatre, located in the Fine Arts complex at Saddleback College. Dance auditions follow on both evenings beginning at 9:00pm, and callbacks will be on August 27th and 28th, also at 6:00pm.

Fall productions include: Dogfight (musical), A Midsummer Night's Dream and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Audition appointments can be made by contacting the Performing Arts Office at (949)582-4763. Walk-up auditions are also accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please bring the following to your audition:

Five copies of your fully completed Audition Form.

Five copies of your headshot (optional).

One signed Release Form.

A one-minute monologue is required for all auditions. If you do not have a prepared monologue, one will be provided for you. For musicals, bring sheet music in the correct key (16-32 bars) and be familiar with the score. An accompanist will be provided. No CDs or pre-recorded music is permitted.

*Note that if you are selected for a role, enrollment in a Theatre Arts course at Saddleback College is required.*

Who we are….

Angels for the Arts at Saddleback is a fundraising and support organization for the Performing and Visual Arts at Saddleback College.  Angel members donate their time and talent to raise funds and assist with a variety of arts events on the campus.  The group is led by a volunteer advisory board of directors.

Why we exist…

Angel members believe in the importance of offering a full spectrum of arts to the community, with the college as the focal point.  These events bring together Orange County residents from all walks of life, for the purpose of enlightenment, entertainment, and inspiration.

 

What we do…

Angels for the Arts provide support for:

  • Scholarships for students in Visual & Performing Arts
  • Saddleback Civic Light Opera
  • MainStage Kids Children's summer program
  • Master classes with professional artists
  • Hospitality for guest artist performers and crew
