Auditions for WinterDance 2016

Audition Dates:  Thursday August 25 at 1:30 PM or Friday August 26 at 7:00 PM in PE301 (the dance studio). 

All dance combinations will be given at the audition.  Looking for all styles of dance—jazz shoes recommended.  Contact dcavazzi@saddleback.edu for more information.  Dancers cast will sign up for a 1 or 2 unit course in fall semester, and each piece will have a weekly 90 minute rehearsal on campus, beginning the week after auditions.  Performances will take place Thurs – Sat Nov 17 – 19.

BODIES AND INK: CELEBRATING NATIONAL BANNED BOOKS WEEK THROUGH MOVEMENT, THEATRE, AND VISUAL ARTS
LRC (Learning Resource Center)
$15 general; $10 Students/Faculty/Seniors (presale only)

Guides will lead audiences through the three story LRC building to encounter ten performance pieces based on works of literature that have been banned.  Students and faculty from Dance, Music, Speech, Theatre Arts and Visual Arts will be part of this unique site-specific event.  Choreography by Deidre Cavazzi, additional direction by Heidi Ochoa and Bill McGuire, and featuring a new choral premiere composed by Dr Scott Farthing.

Winterdance 2016, directed by Deidre Cavazzi, is choreographed by Dance Department faculty and guest artists; performed by Saddleback College dance students.  This popular yearly concert showcases numerous dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop and more.  Proceeds benefit concert expenses and student scholarships.
