chrisspeed1.jpgChris Speed is one of the principal figures in a dynamic left-of-center jazz/improv scene in New York City.  His own bands include Endangered Blood, Human Feel, yeah NO, Trio Iffy, Pachora and The Clarinets.  He is a founding member of Jim Black’s Alas No Axis and John Hollenbeck’s Claudia Quintet (two of the most influential working bands today), works with Uri Caine (deconstructing works by Mahler, Mozart, Bach, Schoenberg, Gershwin) and maintains a busy career of touring, recording, performing, composing, practicing and teaching.

The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

Theatre Arts Fall Auditions

Theatre Arts auditions for the fall season are on August 25th and 26th at 6:00pm (callbacks on the 27th and 28th). Dance auditions follow general auditions on both evenings form 9:00pm to 10:30pm.

Please bring four copies of your filled-out Audition Form,one signed Release Form and a head shot(optional) to your audition. 

A one-minute monologue is required for all auditions. If you do not have a prepared monologue, one will be provided. For musicals, bring sheet music in the correct key (16-32 bars) and be familiar with the score. An accompanist will be provided, and no CDs or other pre-recorded music is allowed.

*Please note that if you are selected, enrollment in a Theatre Arts class will be required.*

Winterdance 2015, directed by Dorothy Anderson Garant, is choreographed by Dance Department faculty and guest artists; performed by Saddleback College dance students.  This popular yearly concert showcases numerous dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop and more.  Proceeds benefit concert expenses and student scholarships.

Theatre Arts Fall Auditions

Date: 
Tuesday, August 25, 2015 - 6:00pm to Wednesday, August 26, 2015 - 6:00pm

Theatre Arts auditions for the fall season are on August 25th and 26th at 6:00pm (callbacks on the 27th and 28th). Dance auditions follow general auditions on both evenings form 9:00pm to 10:30pm.

Please bring four copies of your filled-out Audition Form,one signed Release Form and a head shot(optional) to your audition. 

A one-minute monologue is required for all auditions. If you do not have a prepared monologue, one will be provided. For musicals, bring sheet music in the correct key (16-32 bars) and be familiar with the score. An accompanist will be provided, and no CDs or other pre-recorded music is allowed.

*Please note that if you are selected, enrollment in a Theatre Arts class will be required.*

Who we are….

Angels for the Arts at Saddleback is a fundraising and support organization for the Performing and Visual Arts at Saddleback College.  Angel members donate their time and talent to raise funds and assist with a variety of arts events on the campus.  The group is led by a volunteer advisory board of directors.

Why we exist…

Angel members believe in the importance of offering a full spectrum of arts to the community, with the college as the focal point.  These events bring together Orange County residents from all walks of life, for the purpose of enlightenment, entertainment, and inspiration.

 

What we do…

Angels for the Arts provide support for:

  • Scholarships for students in Visual & Performing Arts
  • Saddleback Civic Light Opera
  • MainStage Kids Children's summer program
  • Master classes with professional artists
  • Hospitality for guest artist performers and crew
  • Enhancements for arts patrons, such as the tram
