Faculty Learning Communities
A Faculty Learning Communities (FLC) is a small group of interdisciplinary faculty engaged in a collaborative dialogue about teaching and learning. FLCs generally meet once every three weeks over the course of a year to work on implementing innovative practices inside and outside of the classroom.
We are starting our first FLCs at Saddleback College in Spring 2012 and running through Fall 2012. The four themes selected are:
- "You Say You Want a Revolution": Fostering Social Awareness in the Classroom
- "The Tightrope of Life": Work/Life Balance in the Academy
- "All the World's a Stage": Performance in the Classroom
- "Hug a Tree": Paperless Teaching
The FLCs are starting NOW. If you are interesting in joining one of the communities listed above, please fill out the application linked below and send to Karah Street at kstreet@saddleback.edu.
