Funding Process
In the past the funding process has been a little different. The individual or organization requesting the funds would fill out an Agenda Item Request through Senate and give their presentation on the date assigned. However, the process has changed for this school year and though it may look more cumbersome it has been designed to make the process as easy and painless as possible for all parties involved. This step-by-step guideline should also help you as you submit allocation requests to ASG this year.
1. Fill out the new Associated Student Government Funding Application!
Once you've completed the application in its entirety you may bring it into SSC210 and put it in the Treasurer's mailbox. Your application will be reviewed by the Budget Committee and they will contact you as soon as a decision has been made. This may be 1-2 weeks depending on when the next Budget Committee meeting is scheduled.
If your request is denied you may apply again. Please be advised that the California Community Colleges are all suffering from state budgets cuts and though we wish we could fund all deserving programs this has simply become a nearly impossible feat. However, every funding application is fairly assessed.
2. If you are contacted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer and informed that your request has been accepted then your application will be forwarded to the Vice President of Senate, Laura Chapman (hollisterbuddy5@yahoo.com). She will then contact you with the date and time you will present your request to Senate.
3. When Senate awards you funding you will receive an e-mail from the Chancellor of the Exchequer with a letter outlining your funds and a grant/allocation acceptance form.
