ASG Diversity Student Council
Newly established in 2008-2009, the Saddleback College Diversity Student Council is a component of the Student Senate that promotes cultural diversity and tolerance through the programs and events offered to the student body. Previously, the Diversity Student Council organized events for Persian New Year, Cambodian New Year, and a Black History Month Series. This year, under the leadership of the Ambassador of the Diversity Student Council Jessica Ochoa, plans to engage the Saddleback College community in learning about new and different cultures while reveling in the rich traditions of yesteryear. This council is open to the entire student body as well as campus organizations; we have worked closely in the previous year(s) with Persian club, African Student Union (ASU) and Appreciation of Pilipino American Culture (APAC) in coordinating successful and effective events. Our goal for the 2009-2010 is to spread the knowledge of cultural diversity to not only the Saddleback community, but the surrounding community.
Meetings:
Members are expected to meet on a weekly basis on Tuesdays at one o'clock at ASG office 211C in the student services building. Any one is welcome!
