Comes to Saddleback for his freshman season from Orange Lutheran High School, where he was the defensive MVP for the Trinity League championship team in 2010. His grandfather, Dick Forkel, played football at Fullerton College and his mother, Lynne, played tennis at Cypress College. Forkel plans to major in business economics.
