Rules Governing Recruiting
Saddleback is one of 108 California community colleges. We like to consider ourselves No. 1 on that list.
All of these colleges which offer intercollegiate athletics are governed by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), with a central state office located in Sacramento. The governing body is made up of
college presidents, athletic directors, coaches and support staff personnel who volunteer for various positions on the Management Council or a handful of other CCCAA committees.
The CCCAA is governed by a Constitution and Bylaws, which is a directive from A to Z about the policies and procedures of participation in intercollegiate athletics at this level. As times change, so do the Bylaws. Bylaw changes follow a yearlong process to receive input from every possible committee and affiliate organization before it gets final approval by the Board.
Here is a link to Bylaw 2 (Recruitment of Student Athletes).
