Leyva is in her first semester at Saddleback after graduating from Laguna Hills High School in 2012. She lettered in cheerleading at LHHS and was named as an athlete of the month in both 2009 and 2010. She served as freshman team captain and varsity team captain.

She is majoring in biology.
