Head Coach MARK BLETHEN
During the summer of 2000, Mark Blethen took over both the men's and women's cross country programs as well as the men's and women's track & field programs at Saddleback College.
Coach Blethen began his coaching career at San Luis Obispo High School, then quickly moved on to the collegiate level where he coached nine seasons at the community college level and two seasons at the University of Delaware.
Assistant Coach MATT SHERMAN
Matt Sherman joined the Saddleback Cross Country program as an assistant coach in 2002. Since then he has helped to develop both the men's and women's cross country programs. While at Saddleback, Sherman has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success while working with the middle distance and distance events at the conference, Southern California region, and state levels.
Sherman earned his B.S. degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2002 and recently added a M.A. degree in education. Sherman started his coaching career at Cuesta College in 1997 where he worked as an assistant coach for both men's and women's cross country and track and field until 2002.
