Saddleback Football has a rich tradition of excellence. Through the first 40 years the Gaucho teams have averaged 7.6 wins and 2.8 losses per season. Four-year college recruiters understand that players who have achieved success at the community college level have a better chance of achieving success at the four-year level. Several Gaucho players move on to play at four-year colleges and universities each season and, after that, some get an opportunity to fulfill that lifelong dream of playing professionial football.

Currently, quarterback Colt Brennan is on the roster with the Washington Redskins. Brennan left Saddleback and attended the University of Hawaii where he was a Heisman Trophy candidate for two seasons and set several NCAA passing records. Fullback Ryan Powdrell has been in camp with the Green Bay Packers for two seasons after playing collegiately at USC. Wide receiver Jerard Rabb was originally with the Dallas Cowboys but had an opportunity to make the San Francisco 49'ers club in 2008. He attended Boise State where he earned national notoriety on a Bronco team which won a BCS Bowl game in overtime in 2006, including his finish on a hook-and-ladder play on the final play of regulation which sent the game into overtime. And corner back Wale Dada played at Washington State after leaving Saddleback. He was in camp with the Denver Broncos in 2008. Several years earlier, quarterback Bill Kenney and wide receiver Stephone Paige would meet up again after leaving Saddleback to make a long and successful passing combination for the Kansas City Chiefs.
