5/27/09: Gaucho’s finish 11th in NATYCAA Cup

The National Association of Two-Year College Administrators of Athletics (NATYCAA) is in charge of creating a formula that figures out the top performing athletic programs in the state for the entire year. Saddleback ended up in 11th place out of 104 programs in California for the 2008-09 calendar year.

Gaucho Saddleback is part of an Orange Empire Conference that had seven programs listed in the top 23 in the state. The Gauchos had sensational winter and spring seasons, finishing seventh in the state over the last 13 sports of the season. Saddleback was propelled by the second place finish in men’s basketball and a third place finish in women’s tennis.

Mt. San Antonio College finished on top in the overall state standings, and eyelash ahead of South Coast Conference rival Cerritos College. Sierra College was the top program in Northern California, finishing third overall.

Attached is a copy of the overall state standings for 2008-09.
