Head Coach JAY AMOS

The Saddleback women's tennis team is under the direction of Coach Jay Amos, who is now in his ninth season as head coach of the women's tennis program. His teams captured four Orange Empire Conference titles during his first five seasons and he was named as the Orange Empire Conference's Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2005.

Saddleback won back-to-back conference titles under Coach Amos in 2001 and 2002, and again in 2004 and 2005. Each year he gets the Gauchos in contention to battle for the conference title, making the race for the title in women's tennis competitive and exciting.

The Gauchos have a tough schedule in 2009 but it should help prepare the team for the conference schedule. The Orange Empire Conference always provides for tough competition.

Assistant Coach CHUCK CONKEY

Coach Conkey is a retired Orange County Sheriff who has been a valuable part of the women's tennis program since 2002 when his daughter, Julie, played for the Gauchos. He adds support to Coach Amos and the players with his broad knowledge and experience in tennis and also with his positive attitude.
