Galaz is a recent 2012 graduate of nearby Mission Viejo High School where she lettered in cheer. At Mission she also participated on the soccer and track and field teams.

There is some athletic lineage in her family as her uncle, Tony, was an Olympic water polo player.

Galaz is majoring in Kinesiology at Saddleback.
