Athletics golf fundraiser goes off without a hitch

The Saddleback athletics department fundraising golf tournament went off without a hitch on Thursday at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club as 120 players battled in out for pride and prizes.  The foursome of Tony Lipold, Gary Anderson, Perry Maloney and Dave Dangleis massaged their scorecard just enough to capture top honors. 

Lipold, Anderson, Maloney and Dangleis came in at 19-under par to blow away the field in the shamble format.  Second place belonged to the team of Kent Bergstrom, Allan Roy, Dan Harney and Tom Von Gremp, who came in at 13-under par.

The long drive contest was won by Lance Moorewood, who pounded the ball 310 yard on the 17th hole to capture top honors.  Closest to the pin awards were won by Craig Gausfella (4th hole), Brad Hoiseth (8th hole), Mike Rae (11th hole) and Mike Foudy (13th hole).

The tournament was followed by a banquet where prizes were raffled off and awards were handed out.  Hamburgers, barbequed pork and chicken sandwiches were served as Arroyo Trabuco provided a great spread for the golfers.

8th Annual Fundraising Golf tournament

The Saddleback College Athletic Department will enjoy its 8th annual fundraising golf tournament on June 3, 2010, at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo. Fundraisers are not very successful without the work of a committee and the support of a community. We'd like to thank all of our sponsors for their continued support of our fundraiser this year.
