My first degree was from a community college, and I strongly believe in the importance of access to quality education - and Saddleback provides that!
I have taught community college history for over 25 years, and I have been teaching at Saddleback since January, 2012. Prior to joining Saddleback, I taught at Northern Virginia Community College, Cypress College, and Portland Community College. I have always been an active faculty member, serving on the faculty senate as well as division committees concerned with curriculum standards, accreditation, and hiring. I am currently a representative on the Faculty Association at Saddleback. During the spring semester of 2016, the VETS program at Saddleback honored (and humbled!) me by naming me their faculty member of the year. This is an honor that I am very proud of, as I feel strongly that veterans are a wonderful addition to this campus, and I am always delighted to have these fine folks in my classes.
In addition to my teaching experience, I served as a Research Associate for the Federal Judicial History Office in Washington, DC, which is the teaching and research arm for the United States Federal Courts, where my duties included oral history projects with retired Associate Supreme Court Justices Thurgood Marshall, William Brennan and Lewis Powell.
I look forward to seeing you in a class soon!
