Welcome to the Saddleback College CNSA
Saddleback College Chapter of CNSA is part of the National Student Nurses' Association or NSNA. The California Nursing Students' Association is composed of over 3600 members who are committed to seeking optimal educational, developmental, and professional growth within today's various healthcare settings.
At Saddleback, we go a little further by fostering success within the nursing program as well as in the healthcare field. We do this by mentoring fellow students, hosting a BBQ during each new semester's orientation, NCLEX-RN reviews, and monthly speakers during our general meeting, and assisting our faculty with events put on by the Student Success Grant.
We are known on campus for our monthly meetings in which we host speakers from various fields of nursing and provide a free lunch for all CNSA members that attend. The speakers we invite are from all walks of nursing, such as the ER, Labor and Delivery, Intensive Care Units, Travel Nursing, and many more. There are also chances to win great prizes in our Members Only Opportunity Drawings.
We are active in community health and outreach. In the past we have collected socks and unused toiletries to be distributed to the homeless in and around Orange County. We have participated in March for Babies, OC Heart Walk, Race for the Cure, and much more. Please look at our calendar to see when our next event will take place!
We were recognized nationally at the NSNA’s Annual Convention this past March in Grapevine, Texas. At Convention, Saddleback College received numerous awards and recognition for election onto the National Board of Nominating and Elections Committee (NEC), Service on the 2007-08 NSNA Board as a Resolutions Committee Member for the 2008 Annual Convention, adoption of the Resolution calling for respite care for our nation’s homeless population, and last but not least, the National Award for Most Outstanding Chapter Newsletter by the NSNA!
BEVEL UP is our Chapter’s nationally recognized, award winning newsletter! The newsletter focuses on all of the exciting events that our chapter is involved with at the school, state, and national level along with fundraising events, community health and outreach projects, information on our general meetings and speakers, and faculty “Up Close.”
