Saddleback College Vocational and Associate Degree Programs
Vocational programs at Saddleback College are formalized programs of study designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and training required to go to work in a vocational area after completion of the program. These programs are recommended for students who are not interested (at this point in time) in transferring on to complete a Bachelor's Degree. The student may participate at various levels in these programs:
- Complete a prescribed Vocational Certificate:
- To obtain the "Certificate of Achievement" the student must complete all of the courses listed in the Vocational Certificate Program.
- Additional information regarding Certificate Programs is provided by the various Academic Programs at Saddleback College.
- Complete some portion a Vocational Certificate program:
- Students may choose to complete selected courses in a vocational field without completing all the courses listed in a certificate program. In this case the Certificate of Achievement will not be awarded, but the student will have a transcript showing courses completed which he/she may show to prospective employers.
- Complete an approved Vocational Certificate and the General Education Requirements, GPA, Unit and Residency requirements leading to the Associate in Science degree.
- Complete any 20 units in some single subject area, for example Automotive Technology, and complete the General
Education Requirements, GPA, Unit and Residency requirements leading to the Associate in Arts degree.
