CTE Professional Externship Opportunities
Externships provide opportunities for staff & faculty to upgrade skills by engaging in job shadow activities in the private sector. Please make us aware of any additional SB 70 funded externships or professional development opportunities that you are also working on. A project can only be funded once.

Round One Externship application process completed and awarded. Round Two application process will begin, March 15th, 2009.
2008-09 Deadline to execute: Aug. 30, 2009
2009-10 Deadlines:
Submit by Nov. 30, 2009 - Execute by March 31, 2010
2009-10 CTE Professional Externship Application Request form 
Ideally, EXTERNSHIP activity will take place during academic year 2009 - 2010.
An electronic presentation must be submitted to the CTE Project Director, at which time the electronic presentation will be posted onto the CTE website as part of the CTE Collaborative objectives.
Financial awards will not be distributed until the electronic presentation is received. To be covered in the presentation:
- Name, title, position of awardee
- Name of externship location site
- Where and when the externship took place
- Name and title of industry professional
- You may also include any additional online information as attachments, such as background on externship location and industry professional
Please outline:
- Lessons learned or highlights about the experience
- How this new or additional information will or can be incorporated into your classroom or work responsibilities
- You may submit any additional information you feel appropriate
Submission of your electronic presentation:
No more than $900 may be awarded at one time for one professional externship opportunity. An externship must be conducted in no less than 9 hours and cannot take place during your regularly scheduled assigned hours. Highly desirable subject matter that focuses on the following:
