Answer: The Emeritus Institute, an integral part of Saddleback College and its education vision, provides challenging and rewarding courses designed for the older adult to accommodate the lifelong learning needs of our community members.
Answer: The Emeritus Institute offers high-quality academic classes that are state-approved and available on a credit and non-credit basis. Classes cover a wide range of interests from accounting, art, art history, crafts, biology, fashion, communication arts, computer information, English writing and literature, gerontology, health, history, music, philosophy, photography, physical and aquatic fitness, political science, Spanish, special services and theatre.
Answer: Classes are offered at more than 25 off-campus sites from San Clemente in the south to Laguna Woods to the north, including retirement communities, senior centers, churches and community centers. Some of the computer information classes are held on the Saddleback College campus.
Answer: Most Emeritus Institute classes have no fee. Some classes have a .5 or 1 unit fee and a few classes have a material fee. The current unit fee is listed online. Select

Answer: Classes are offered three times a year:
Fall Semester - End of August to mid-December
Spring Semester - January through end of May
Summer Session - End of May through mid-July

Answer: The Emeritus Institute Foundation is organized specifically for charitable and educational purposes. Gifts to the Emeritus Institute Foundation provide support for consistent excellence of our program. Funds raised are used to provide classroom supplies, materials and equipment.
