EOPS/CARE & CalWORKs Scholarship Information
Saddleback College Scholarship
Contact: Saddleback College Fiancial Aid office/Scholarship.
Eligibility:
Application must be completed on line; Students currently attending Saddleback College or another college must have completed at least 6 units with a letter grade by the end of the fall semester 2011; You will earn at least a 2.0 GPA and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of the semester; You plan on returning to Saddleback College in the fall 2010 and the spring of 2011 and enroll in a minimum of 6 units; If you plan to transfer to a four-year college or to another college in the fall semester 2012, you will be required to provide evidence of that transfer.

Soroptimist Scholarship
Eligiblility: applicants must be women, Provide the primary financial support for her family (including children, spouse, siblings and/or parents); Have financial need; Are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program; Reside in one of Soroptimist International of the Americas’ member countries/territories (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, United States of America, Venezuela); Have not previously been the recipient of a Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Award; are not a Soroptimist member, employee or immediate family of either.
Reqirement: You will need two different people to fill out the reference form ("ReferenceForm.pdf"). Please email this form to your references and request that they email the forms back to you when completed.

The Dow Jones News Fund Internship Programs

Eligibility: Paid 10-week summer internships in business reporting, multimedia editing, sports and news editing for college juniors, seniors and graduate students at newspapers, news services and other media outlets. Candidates apply via the website, upload 500-word essay, resume and transcripts and take required DJNF-created tests. Award: $1,000 scholarship, salary starting at $350/week
