Scholarship Information
Soroptimist Scholarship
The deadline for this scholarship has been extended please
Step 1: Determine if you are eligible
Eligible applicants must be women who:
- Provide the primary financial support for her family (including children, spouse, siblings and/or parents)
- Have financial need
- Are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program
- Reside in one of Soroptimist International of the Americas’ member countries/territories (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, United States of America, Venezuela).
- Have not previously been the recipient of a Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Award; are not a
Soroptimist member, employee or immediate family of either.

Note: Once all parts of the form are completed, select "Save As" from the "File" menu and change the file name (for example, "WOAonlineappLG.pdf," where "LG" are your initials.) Click "Save."
Step 3: Obtain References
You will need two different people to fill out the reference form ("ReferenceForm.pdf"). Please email this form to your references and request that they email the forms back to you when completed.
Step 4: Email your application
Completed applications must be emailed to the appropriate Soroptimist region. Applications will be forwarded to a local participating Soroptimist club. Applications must be emailed to the region contact by February 1st so they can be forwarded to a local club before the deadline.
Saddleback College Scholarship
The Saddleback College Scholarship application is now available at www.saddleback.edu/fao/ The Deadline to submit completed applications is March 15,2011, 11:59 pm (PST).
- Application must be completed on line
- Students currently attending Saddleback College or another college must have completed at least 6 units with a letter grade by the end of the fall semester 2009.
- You will earn at least a 2.0 GPA and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of the semester.
- You plan on returning to Saddleback College in the fall 2010 and the spring of 2011 and enroll in a minimum of 6 units.
- If you plan to transfer to a four-year college or to another college in the fall semester 2010, you will be required to provide evidence of that transfer

- A signed and enclosed SCHEC Scholarship application.
- Must have two references completed and mailed the appraisal forms? Appraisal forms can be included with the application packet or mailed directly from the references. Be sure to confirm the references mail the appraisal forms by the postmark deadline of March 25, 2011.
- Enclose all college transcripts (may be official or unofficial)? Transcripts must be provided for every college attended.
- Enclosed my personal statement of 500 words.
