Hanay Geiogamah
New Native American Drama: Three Plays
Norman, OK: University of Oklahoma Press, 1980.
In a sense continuing the Native American oral tradition,
Geiogamah has produced three plays (by a Native American for an
audience of Native Americans) in which the characters are free of
the European Indian stereotype. He portrays his characters with
humor and dignity. They are characters whose politics and
philosophies are legitimately modern and who speak most definitely
from the contemporary Native American perspective.
