Creative Newspaper


The assignment for students is to create a newspaper to be "delivered" to classmates for review. The assignment can be modified for time periods and geographic areas. Establish deadlines for (i) articles and the rough draft; (ii) edited, typed articles; (iii) decorated finished papers; (iv) oral presentations.

Students should:
  1. divide into groups.
  2. choose a time period.
  3. decide on a creative format.
  4. divide work on articles.
  5. edit, proofread, assemble the newspaper.
  6. "deliver" to class for review
Types of articles:
  • "news" from that time period
  • editorials
  • book reviews
  • "gossip" on the authors
  • letters to authors, philosophers, psychologists, with answers
  • other articles with literary emphasis
