All Roads Are Good: Native Voices on Life and Culture
Washington, D.C.: Smithsonian Institution Press, 1994.

Interviews with Native American artists and artisans explore threatened traditions, lost life ways and changing values that affect Native Americans in both the northern and southern hemispheres. The book is beautifully illustrated with colored plates and black-and-white photographs. What pervades the book is the sense that not only are the artifacts and the art beautiful, they are also profoundly sacred. There is an eternal connection between the artist, the process and the art itself. Abe Conklin (Ponca-Osage) says, "Everything we did was made with prayer."
