Abby Sirulnik
Abby Sirulnik earned her BA in Biology from Earlham College and her PhD in Botany from the University of California at Riverside. For her graduate research, she studied the impacts of oxidized nitrogen from air pollution on nutrient cycling in Coastal Sage Scrub (CSS) and the exotic annual grasslands that are replacing CSS. Before teaching at Saddleback College, she was a postdoctoral research associate at Fordham University, studying ectomycorrhizal fungi in hemlock stands in New York. While living in New York, she taught microbiology at Westchester Community College, Introductory Biology at University of Connecticut at Stamford, and Environmental Science at Manhattanville College. At Saddleback College, Professor Sirulnik currently teaches introductory Biology, Microbiology, and Biology of Plants.
