Catalog Course Description

Introduces the competencies identified in the California Preschool Learning Foundations in the domain of mathematics including strands of number sense, algebra and functions, measurement, geometry, and mathematical reasoning. Provides practical strategies for implementing curriculum frameworks developed for this domain.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Demonstrate understanding of the role of the California Preschool Learning Foundations in the education of young children in California

2. Identify appropriate  goals and objectives in the mathematics domain

3. Write curriculum that reflects the strands of the mathematics domain

4. Discuss appropriate assessment methods for young learners
