Copying Files From An FTP Server
To copy files from an FTP Server to your computer, perform the
following steps.

Connect to the FTP Server you wish to transfer the file from.

Select the file(s) on the FTP Server that you wish to copy to your computer

In left-hand side of the Fetch window, is a list of files on the remote
host.

Double-clicking on a folder icon will display the contents of that folder.

To move up to a previous folder, select its name from the pop-up menu above
the file list.

Once you have found the file you want, click once on it to select it. You
can select multiple files by clicking the mouse while holding down the
shift or command button.

Select the appropriate transfer type (ASCII, Binary, to automatic) by clicking
on the appropriate radio button along the right side of the file list.

ASCII
-
Used for transferring plain text (or also known as ASCII) files

Binary
-
Used for transferring non-text files such as executable programs, spreadsheets,
graphics, etc.

Automatic

This setting will try to determine the correct transfer type for you. Use
it when you aren't sure which of the previous two modes to select. When
transferring multiple files, this is the best mode to use.

If you have a single file selected:

Click the Get File button.

You will be asked to name the file and indicate where you want Fetch to
save it.
If you have multiple files selected:

Click the Get Files button.

You will be asked to locate a folder for Fetch to save the files into.
Note that Fetch will not ask you to name each file, but will instead, use
the name of each file on the remote server.
