Professor Gita Satyendra has been a librarian at Saddleback College for sixteen years. She received both her Bachelor of Arts Degree and her Masters in Library Science from UCLA. She has thirty years experience as a teaching librarian and her special interests are library services for distance education students and helping community college students master information competency skills. Professor Juanita Baltierra has been the EOPS Counselor at Saddleback College since 1985. She holds a Masters of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from California State University, Long Beach. Before coming to Saddleback College, Professor Baltierra was an EOP Counselor at California State University, Fullerton. She has also worked on the campuses of Cal Poly Pomona , Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal State Long Beach. She has held positions as a Learning Skills Counselor, EOP Counseling Services Coordinator, and Learning Assistance Coordinator. Professor Baltierra has extensive experience in working with at-risk, educationally disadvantaged, and bilingual populations. Her belief is that any student, with the appropriate dose of self-awareness, basic and study skills development, and self-determination, can be successful in college.

Professor Suzanne Crawford has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English, both from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She presently teaches writing classes for Saddleback and Orange Coast Colleges. She has also taught writing and study skills classes for Cal Poly Pomona and Coastline College, including a live-cable television course in study techniques. Recently Suzanne was a faculty advisor and the author of the faculty manual for a new, nationally-distributed telecourse–Mastering the College Experience–produced by KOCE-TV, Coast Community College District, and Houghton Mifflin Company. Suzanne has been a presenter for conference workshops on distance learning and has given flex day presentations on student learning styles. She coordinated learning skills and tutoring centers at both Cal Poly Pomona and California State University, Los Angeles. She believes all students are teachable if enough is known about their unique learning styles and if they are willing to help a teacher discover that key to reaching the learning potential within them.
