Teaching Science, Math, and Technology

Recommended Prep:

CD 101, CD 110, ENG 200

This course presents the theory and techniques used to develop curriculum based on national standards for young children in the areas of math, science, and technology.

Activities, classroom strategies, methods of documentation, use of cameras and computers, pre-K guidelines and NAEYC teacher competencies in the areas of math, science, and technology will be covered.

Lecture and activities will be conducted online. Students will be responsible for finding young children in school or home settings to observe and interact with periodically throughout the course.

Activity Writing is based on the skills developed in CDES 110 Early Childhood Curriculum and Practice I. Students who have not yet completed this course may be at a disadvantage for many of the assignments.
