1. All applicants must fill out the "Application for Credential Authorizing Public School Service" issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)

2. All Applicants will have to have Live scan Fingerprints on file with CCTC. Fingerprints are confusing because there are two agencies that collect them and they do not share records: CCTC and also Community Care Licensing (CCL). The CCL fingerprints will NOT count for your Child Development Permit, you will have to have them redone.

3. Currently there are two funding sources that pay the application fees for Child Development Permits. If you utilize one of these two sources you do not have to pay the permit processing fees and you will be reimbursed for your fingerprint fees.

The Child Development Training Consortium ( CDTC) will pay the fees for applicants who:     

a) are not currently working with children but have completed the required child development coursework or

b) are working with school age children

California First Five (First 5) will pay the fees for applicants who currently work with children ages 0-5 for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

2. Either a completed CDTC Application OR a completed First 5 Application
3. A completed experience verification form
4. Receipt for Live scan Fingerprints
5. Live scan reimbursement form
