Online courses can be completed from any internet connection. Students may work from home, school, or cafe but it is the students responsibility to find an internet connection to complete work on time. If something happens to your normal computer make sure to find another place to work to avoid missing deadlines.
Students are advised to invest in a jump, flash, or finger drive to store all work.
Nearly all courses are completed 100% online, including orientations and exams.
Online courses become available to students on the first day of class (note, this is not always the first day of the semester).
Many instructors send an informational email to the student's school email account shortly before class begins, but it is the student's responsibility to log in to the Blackboard system on the first day of class for important course information.
Online students MUST be able to access their student email accounts.
Typically, students will be dropped after the first week if the instructor has no evidence of participation or communication
Text books are required for online courses just as they are for on campus courses. Check the Bookstore for text information. Some online classes require an additional access key available only with texts ordered by the instructor through the Saddleback Bookstore.
Eight week courses are compressed versions of full semester courses, Students should expect to have all of the work of a 16 week course due in a shorter time frame and should plan their time accordingly.
