Welcome

Welcome to my faculty website. As an enrolled student in my class(es), your syllabi is posted on Blackboard. Log into Blackboard at <http://socccd.blackboard.com/>

  • Username: Your username is the first part of your college email address, up to, but not including, "@" sign.

  • Password: Your four-digit PIN plus two zeroes (123400)

  • Having trouble logging in? Please go to the Saddleback Online Help page located at: Saddleback Website
Blackboard online virtual classrooms open starting the first day of the semester (no access to online class(es) before this time). You will find the class you are enrolled in through the blue hyperlink listed with the class name
& section #.

For an advance copy of your course syllabi before the first day of class, check your campus email account. Every semester about a week prior to the first day of class, I email all enrolled students a letter of introduction and syllabi for early book purchase, etc.  If you are not an enrolled student see the class links or email me for further information.

Once logged in on a reliable computer/server from the first day of class, read the announcement page, print and read the course syllabi, and GO!

No on-campus orientation to attend.

It is not necessary to email me before the first day of class. However, I will gladly answer your questions. Getting logged into Blackboard is the first step. Contact the Online Help Desk if you have problems. I cannot help you with log-in issues.

Spring 2009: if you are interested in what books you will need (prior to access to the class syllabus), these are the books you will need (all paperback and all are required):

So getting into the class from the first day is the key to your success!

Your books are located at the campus bookstore. For the books required in your specific class and section, see your Blackboard classroom syllabi for ISBNs and all course requirements (however, they are noted above for your convenience prior to the first day of class). Take your syllabus with you. You do not want to purchase the wrong books.

If you are not an enrolled student, please feel free to browse the course information provided for you in the class links (see left). These class pages offer you course topic descriptions for History 4, World Civilizations to 1750; History 16, US History to 1877; and History 17, Modern US History from 1865 to present.
