Professor Zajac joined the faculty at Saddleback College in 2008.  He has also taught at the University of Maryland, where he earned his Master's degree in 2006.  He worked in the primate unit at Smithsonian's National Zoological Park from 2006-2008.  During this time he conducted a research project on the reintroduction of a silverback gorilla into his natal group, and went on to present the paper at the 2007 American Association of Zoo Keeper's National Conference. While at Smithsonian's National Zoological Park, Professor Zajac also assisted in research projects on western lowland gorillas, orangutans, white-cheeked gibbons and siamangs.  As a Master's candidate at the University of Maryland, he conducted research projects on wild and captive howler monkeys. 

Professor Zajac's current interests are captive orangutan sociality and new world monkey feeding patterns and reintroduction projects.
