Dr. Goldberg has been a full-time professor at Saddleback College for more than 15 years.  She teaches law classes in the Business Department of the Business Science Division.  Prior to her coming to the college, she practiced law in California with an emphasis on civil litigation.  She has a Juris Doctorate degree and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Education with a speciality in Online Teaching & Learning (MS-OTL).

Her leadership roles include numerous positions with the Academic Senate.  The Academic Senate represents the faculty in its role of shared governance of the college.  (Academic Senator 1987 to 1998, Secretary/Treasurer 1998-99, President Elect 1999-00, President 2000-01, Past President 2001-02)  In addition, she was Chair of the Legal Studies Department from 1987 to 1999, Chair of the Distance Education Committee 1999-2002, Chair of the Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04, and 2004-05 and Chair of the Faculty Development Funding Committee 2010-11.  She was the faculty advisor to the Legal Assisting Association from 1988 to 1999 and Pre-Law Mentorship Program from 1990 to 1994. She has served as a member of the District Resource Allocation Committee, College Budget Committee, Ethics and Professional Standards Committee, Honors Board, Disciplinary Committee, Partnership for Excellence Committee, Distance Education Committee and District Task Force on Distance Education.  She is currently a member of the Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee, Faculty Development Flex Committee, and Perkins Funding Committee..

Her personal goals include using technology in the delivery of instruction.  Her challenge is teaching law students critical thinking skills by analyzing life experiences, case law and separating opinions from facts.

She agrees with education experts and US business leaders such as Bill Gates of Microsoft, a new driving force in education, that one of the most serious crisis facing this country is the complete failure of the public high school education system.  That this failure results in the majority of students lacking essential skills and being unprepared for the college classroom.  Further after graduation from college, unless savvy students have recognized their deficiencies and solved them, they continue to face serious problems due to their lack of routine skills necessary for employment in today's competitive business environment. 

Another challenge is to warn students about this failure and the related policy of out-of-control high school grade inflation so students do not use their high school grades as a measure of their ability to succeed in college with little or no effort whatsoever.  Her empathy for the students who have been victimized by this problem motivates her to instill in them the desire to truly learn the material so they can ultimately transfer and succeed in their university work and chosen professions.  Her goal is to inspire them to love education and be lifelong learners of new skills, both business-related and for personal enrichment. 

Her educational philosophy is teaching students how to find information, their unique learning style, develop critical thinking skills and understand overall concepts.  She employs humor in the delivery of instruction and tries not to take herself too seriously.  She constantly tells anyone who cares to listen that she has the best job on the face of the earth. 

She is a resident of Riverside County and gratefully contributes funds each day to the numerous toll roads and whenever possible, the MetroLink trains that bring her to the beautiful Saddleback College campus.

Let the rain come and wash away the ancient grudges, the bitter hatreds held and nurtured over generations.
  

Let the rain wash away the memory of the hurt and neglect.  Let the sun come out and fill the sky with rainbows.
 

Let the warmth of the sun heal us wherever we are broken.  Let the warmth and brightness of the sun 

melt our selfishness so that we can share the joys and feel the sorrows of our neighbors.

Let it burn away the fog so that we can see each other clearly beyond the labels, accents, gender or skin color.

Let the light of the sun be so strong that we will see all people as our neighbors.

Let the earth, nourished by rain, bring forth flowers to  surround us with beauty.
