Fall 2004 TESTS: 

          We will have four tests comprising 75% of the grade. The final is just another test. Each test is worth 25% of the final grade, the lowest test grade will be dropped. Test 1 and 2 will be open book, take-home essay or programming oriented tests. I will give students one hour at the end of a class to discuss the questions on tests 1 and 2.  Tests 3 and test 4 (final) will be in-class written tests, you will not be able to work with others on these two tests.

Test 2 will cover chapter 1-4, only on Java Programming syntax and logic. No essay questions, you will have to finish short programs, write one program, and figure out what some lines of code are doing. Self test questions and homework assignments areyour best preparation. Test is closed book, closed notes, closed others.

Students who took advantage of extra credit (i.e., online quizzes, extra assignments) also did well on tests, as a result a few
students got over 100%.
