Horticulture Program

The  Horticulture Department is soundly based on horticultural technolgy and prepares students for careers related to production and care of plants, trees, and shrubs commonly used in landscapes, retail and wholesales nurseries, and county, state, federal parks.

The Department is divided into two programs:  Horticulture, which emphasizes the care of plants; and Landscape Design, which emphasizes the use of plants in urban and rural landscapes.

The Saddleback College Horticulture Program provides courses that prepare students the ability to gain employment in the horticulture industry as well as the background to transfer to a four-year institution.

The Program also offers certificates in Horticulture as well as Landscape Design.  For additional information on the requirements for the Horticulture Certification (Catalog PDF format) go to page 75, and for information on the Landscape Design Certificate go to page 80.
