Nando has been teaching at Saddleback College since January 2009. He teaches Economics and Political Science/International Relations. He has roughly 15 years of work experience in economic research, forecasting, economic consulting, and financial services, including positions in Washington D.C. and on Wall Street. He has worked for Standard & Poor's (S&P), Morgan Stanley, and the American Stock Exchange.
He currently works as a Consultant/International Economist to the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) in Downtown Los Angeles and also advises other government agencies, companies and organizations. He specializes in economic development with a specialization in how Southern California is connected to the global economy, international economics and international trade.
He has briefed the Mayor's Office of Los Angeles including former Mayor Villaraigosa and current Mayor Garcetti on LA's relations with China, Japan and South Korea.
He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Long Beach Press Telegram, Press Enterprise, Ventura County Star, & other local publications and has appeared on ABC TV Channel 7, PBS, NPR, KNX 1070AM, Hong Kong Phoenix TV, Sinovision, Voice of America, and NHK-Japan.
In his spare time, Nando enjoys following politics, foreign affairs, watching hockey, anything Italian (FORZA ITALIA), reading, and traveling.
