MSE Safety
Math, Science, and Engineering Safety Committee (MSE Division)

Mission Statement:

To provide a responsible safety and occupational health program to support a safe and secure learning and work environment for students, faculty and staff.

Relevant College Mission or Goal: 

To provide access to learning opportunities that provide student success.

Meeting Information: 

Monthly, the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:00pm in the MSE Conference Room (SM 341).

Goals:

1.  Reinforce safety concerns by providing regular inspections in and around the SM Building and reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate college administration area.

2.  Revise and implement with the District and College community (a) a Hazardous Communication Plan (District responsibility); (b) a Chemical Hygine Plan; (c) a Respirator Protection Program; and (d) a Formaldehyde Safety Program including the necessary training.

3.  Reinforce safety Rules by having students wear the appropriate safety equipment in laboratory classes.
