Certificate Options
Option 1 Human Services Generalist (28 Units)
The Human Services Generalist option provides a historical and current perspective of the basic issues within the human service growing career options within the field, provides an opportunity to explore several of the program options, and generally provides the kind of information of information that lets students make informed decisions regarding career direction.
Option 2 Alcohol and Drug Studies (37 Units)
The Alcohol and Drug Studies program integrates theory and practical experience in developing the skills necessary to work with the alcohol and drug abuse population, as well as with families and employers of chemically dependent individuals. This program option combines the Human Services behavioral core, skills training and experiential learning in field work settings.
Option 3 Corrections and Criminal Justice (31 Units)
The specialization in Corrections and Criminal Justice provides the student with an introduction to the Human Services behavioral, core and skills, and a technical area of study. Students completing the program may find employment in probation, juvenile counseling settings, California Youth Authority, and halfway houses.
Option 4 Mental Health Worker (29 Units)
The Mental Health Worker Certificate and/or Associate of Science Degree educates students to understand cultural competency, skills needed for clients and family members to enter the public mental health labor force, benefits acquisitions, the recovery model, Co-0ccurring Disorders and integrated services, early identification of mental illness and evidence-based practices.
Eating Disorders (9 Units Online) No Certificate
Saddleback Collelge is an International Association of Eating Disorders Professional (IAEDP) academic member and offers online courses for certification with IAEDP.
