Nursing Program
Saddleback College offers a National League for Nursing (NLNAC) and Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) accredited Registered Nursing Program. The purposes of this program in Nursing are to provide the education necessary to develop competent practitioners in nursing and to provide a base for the continuing development of the student as an individual. Completion of the nursing program allows the student to sit for the State of California NCLEX examination.
Criteria for admittance and application packets are available in the Health Sciences and Human Services division office or click on the links located at the left side of this page.
New Requirement for Admission into the Nursing Program
Students invited into the nursing program starting January 2012 will be required to take a 10 panel drug test. Participants will be informed of what is included in the 10 panel prior to testing.
If any results are positive and are not confirmed to be prescription medications, student will not be admitted to the program.
The Saddleback College Associate Degree Nursing Program requires background checks on all students enrolled and/or entering the nursing program. This policy was instituted because the Joint Commission requires any health care facility that requires employees to have personal criminal background checks must also require the same background check for students and volunteers involved in patient care.
Applications for Fall 2012 will be accepted Feb. 13-16; Feb. 21-March 1, 2012

Our new multi-criteria enrollment criteria is now effective. Nursing program applicants are required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test before applying to the Saddleback College Nursing program. This is a diagnostic test that covers Basic Math, English, Reading, and Science. For more information on the TEAS test, or to purchase a study guide, log on to the ATI Testing website. We are currently using the 5.0 version. Only Saddleback College nursing applicants will be permitted to take the test. You will need to send or hand deliver the TEAS testing application, with a $20.00 check made out to Saddleback College Nursing to Health Science Building Room 235. The check is to secure your reservation and will be returned to you upon completion of the test. The check will be forfeited and deposited if you are a "no-show" for the test. You must present your photo ID to take the test. Please know your Saddleback College e-mail address and password. You will use it to sign into computer.

Applications for the Fall 2012 will be accepted
Feb. 13-16 and Feb. 21-March 1, 2012 , 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Applications will not be accepted on weekends or holidays. Only complete applications will be reviewed. In progress work will not be accepted. Once a student is invited into the program, there will be specific deadlines for paperwork and testing that will have to be met in order to be cleared to register for classes. Since the program is impacted, we will not be accepting students with international student F-1 visas into the nursing program.
A student does not need an appointment to complete an application, but it is imperative that students continue to meet with their counselors to determine transferability of classes, general education requirements, and eligibility for application to the nursing program.
We encourage all students interested in our nursing program to attend one of the following informational sessions:
