Accepted International Students

Please review the information below as it contains important information regarding requirements prior to attending Saddleback College.

Once you’ve obtained your visa, please complete the following:

  1. Please download and read the New Student Welcome Packet and International Student F-1 Visa Handbook.

  2. Contact your local EducationUSA Advising Center about attending a Pre-Departure Orientation
    To find your local advising center, please visit: EducationUSA advising centers are located all over the world and are excellent resources for studying in the United States.

  3. Arrival
    You may enter the U.S. no more than 30 days prior to the beginning of your program, as indicated on your SEVIS I-20. It is recommended that you arrive at least 3 weeks before the start date on your I-20 so you can settle in and also complete the assessment testing in order to register for classes.

  4. Health Insurance
    All international students, except those who are sponsored by their Embassy, are required to purchase the mandatory international student health insurance plan by Ascension for the entire academic year of your enrollment. Go to to purchase Health Insurance.

  5. Enroll in APSY 1 with Professor Astley

  6. Orientation
    Please contact the International Office for specific dates and times of Orientation.

  7. TB (Tuberculosis) Test
    Take a Tuberculosis skin test (TB) in the United States (available on campus in the Student Health Center).
