Admission Requirements for International Students
Required Admission Documents: To apply for admission to Saddleback College, please submit all of the following required documents before the deadline date. All documents must be submitted before your application for admission can be considered.

Nonrefundable Application Fee $54.00 U.S. Dollars. Please send U.S., International Money Order, or a Cashier’s Check payable in U.S. funds. |
3. |
One-page personal statement about your current educational goals and your goals after completing your studies at Saddleback College. Also, describe the reason you selected Saddleback College to pursue your higher education. |
4. |
Original official transcript of academic records equivalent to graduation from an American high school. Transcript must be official; English translation must be official bearing the signature, stamp, and other information of translator. |
5. |
A letter of recommendation from an instructor, a school official, or a representative from your religion who is familiar with you and can write about your character, motivation, and your potential to be successful studying in the United States. |

A recent TOEFL score (2 years or less) report with evidence of minimum of 470 paper test score, or 150 computer test score, 52 internet based test score. Acceptance to Saddleback College: After your application for admission is reviewed, a letter of acceptance or denial for admission will be mailed to you. The acceptance letter will include a United States Immigration and Naturalization form I-20. The I-20 form is required for entrance into the United States and hence is the form you provide the American Embassy or Consulate in your country to obtain a student visa.
Saddleback College assists international students with home-stay and host programs. World Wide International Students Exchange Program (WISE) works to match students with appropriate families located a short distance from the college. All accepted students will be send a WISE program packet along with their acceptance letter and I-20 form. It is advisable to mail back your application for housing as soon as you receive it from our office. For more information on the Homestay W.I.S.E program, please contact our office or W.I.S.E. Program Director, Michele Curiel, at www.wisefoundation.com.
Apartment Rentals: Mission Viejo and the surrounding areas have many apartment communities that students may choose to live in. Students may also share a house or an apartment with another individual or family. Saddleback College has a student housing bulletin board on campus in the Student Services Center, which advertises housing accommodations.
Conditions for Enrollment: Once you’ve obtained your visa, you must complete the following before you can enroll in classes.
- Arrive at Saddleback College at least three (3) weeks before classes begin.
- Complete the required English and Math placement tests.
- Attend International Student Orientation.
- Meet with International Student Counselor to select your classes.
- Take a tuberculosis skin test (TB) in the United States.
- Purchase the required health insurance.
- You must enroll in a minimum of 12 units per semester to maintain your F-1 status.
