How to Backup Information Using Saddleback's Backup Server
AKA Doc-Server

Did you know you can back up your documents on campus to a storage facility here on campus? It's simple, quick, and safe. When you log in to the Saddleback domain using your usual user name (first initial and last name), you can follow the steps below to drag and drop your documents, email, etc. and back them up.

These steps are the same for Windows 98, 2000 and XP.

Step 1:

Create a BACKUP folder on your desktop and copy all the files you want to backup into that folder.

RIGHT CLICK anyplace on your desktop, and select NEW, FOLDER

Name the folder BACKUP. Drag files you wish to backup into that folder.

Step 2:
From the START button, select RUN
Step 3:
Type "\\doc-server\Users. Click OK, and find your name in the list.
Step 4:

RIGHT CLICK on your folder and drag it to your desktop. SELECT CREATE SHORTCUT. Now you can drag your backup folder into the doc-server shortcut.

TIP: Rename your backup folder with the date so you know when your last backup was performed.
