USING COMMUNICATOR CALENDAR
  1. Open Netscape Calendar
    Open Netscape Communicator.
    From the Communicator menu, pull down to Calendar.
    Type your user name: Enter your name
    Type your password: It is the same password that you use for email (default = last 4 digits of your social + 00)
    Server Name: Calendar.socccd.cc.ca.us
    Click OK.
  2. Your Calendar will default to a daily format. For other views, from the View menu or icon, choose Week or Month.

  3. Setting your Preferences
    Scheduling
    From the Edit menu, choose Preferences, and pull down to Scheduling.
    Click the tabs to view your preferences for each day of the week.
    Click OK.

    Agenda Display
    From the Edit menu, choose Preferences, and pull down to Agenda.
    Click Display
    Choose the options you want.
    To hide declined entries, uncheck Declined Agenda Entries.
    If you do not hide declined entries, every invitation you receive will appear on your schedule, whether you accept of decline it
    Click OK

    Agenda Notification
    From the Edit menu, choose Preferences, and pull down to Agenda.
    Click Notification.
    Choose the options you want.
    Click OK.

  4. Open your own Agenda
    If your Agenda is not open.
    From the File menu, choose Open Agenda, and then choose An Agenda.
    Click Modify your own agenda
    Click OK.

    To view your Agenda in a Day, Week, or Month format, go to the View menu or icon, choose Day, Week, or Month.
    Double-click on the dates you wish to enter and fill in appropriate times, titles or if viewing by day click the time slot where you wish to begin your Agenda Entry and drag the pointer to the End time and press return/enter. You can now type the Agenda Entry title directly into the block.

  5. Delete Entry
    From the Edit menu, choose Delete Entry. Remember you can not delete entries that are not yours.
  6. To Create repeating Entries
    Double-click on the date.
    Click the General tab. Fill in the appropriate title, time and dates.
    Click on the Repeating tab. Fill in Frequency and other information.
    Click OK.
    A window appears "Do you wish to create a list of dates using current settings. Click YES.
    Click OK. Notice that your calendar will now show ALL the repeating entries.
  7. To view the Agenda of another user From the File menu, choose Open Agenda, and then choose An Agenda.
    Select View the Agenda of:
    Type the name of the person whose agenda you want to view. If you want to open a resource agenda, type res:
    Click the Checkmark button.
    Click OK.
  8. To open the Agenda of another user as a Designate
    Select "Modify, as a designate, the Agenda of."
    In the list box below, those users who have granted you designate rights will be displayed. Select the user from the list.
  9. NOTE: If any other user has not granted you designate rights, this portion of the dialog box will not be displayed.

  10. To view a combined Agenda
    From the File menu, choose Open Agenda, and then choose A Group Agenda.
    Type the name of the person whose agenda you want to view, press return. The name will appear in the agenda list. Continue until you have completed your list.
    Click OK.
    Calendar displays the combined agenda for the selected people. Red area in Combined column indicates conflicts. Use the navigation buttons to view a different date for the combined agenda.
  11. Creating a group
    You can create a group that consists of a list of people with whom you meet regularly.
    From the Edit menu, choose Manage Groups.
    Type the name of the group in the "Add group" entry box. Click in next field. Click on Private.
    Click the checkmark button to confirm your entry.
    In the "Add member" entry box, type the name of a person you want to add to the group.
    Click the checkmark button to confirm your entry or press return/enter. Continue adding people to the group. When completed.
    Click OK.
  12. Displaying your In-Tray
    Your In-tray is the central place where you can view all meetings, list entries you have sent to others, as well as entries you've accepted and refused. The expiration of the In-Tray can be set in your preferences.
    From the File menu, choose Open In-Tray.
    Click a folder. To see more information about an entry, double-click it.
  13. Printing your Agenda
    You can print your agenda in popular layout formats such as Franklin, Day-Timer, and Day-Runner.
    Open your agenda.
    From the File menu, choose Print.
    Choose the print layout, dates, and Agenda pages.
    Click OK.
